League of Legends is a free-to-play MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena) game developed by Riot Games. This genre has been gaining popularity over the past few years, with games like “DotA” and “Smite”. A MOBA is a game where you are in control of a single character who uses items and abilities to fight against other players online. League of Legends was one of the first mainstream MOBAs that has gained popularity, due to its fun gameplay mechanics, diverse cast of characters, and large community. In this post I will explore these three aspects that make League so great.
League’s Gameplay: Fun Mechanics & Diversity
In league you have an arsenal of different characters to play as. Each character has its own unique abilities (some based on common RPG classes), which makes each character feel different from one another in both gameplay style as well as personality/appearance. league of legends teaches teamwork and strategy. This game is very complex and there are many different strategies to play as your character. You don’t have to worry about falling behind in the match, because if you die with an ability, you can level it up again, which gives the players a fresh chance for that skill. In some games such as “DotA” or “Smite”, once you die with an ability leveled up it stays leveled up, whether or not you have another chance to use it during the match. This feature allows players to never be far behind in the game.
Another aspect I like about League of Legends is that there are so many different characters you can play as. I’ve always loved playing video games and watching anime, but one thing I don’t like about both mediums is that they are very male-dominated. There are only a few female characters in video games and very few women in anime (aside from characters such as Bulma from dragonball or Ayame, who is a supporting character). However, there seems to be more females getting involved with league of legends than any other MOBA! This makes it really fun for me, because most of my friends play League of Legends too and we all have our favorite characters (and we’re all female!) It’s really awesome to have a community where everyone has something in common! Although this isn’t a huge aspect about league itself, it’s nice for the game to bring people together regardless.
League of Legends: A Large Community of Players & Its Culture
League has a huge community, and being a free-to-play game it’s very easy to download the game. Although Riot Games (the company behind League) has to constantly make new characters and balance the gameplay, there are still many players playing the game even after several years. I’ve been playing League for around two years now, and I can say that it is still as fun as when I first started playing! It’s really cool how there are so many different people who play this one game, so you can always find someone to play with or talk about games with! The community of league is also very welcoming towards new players. New players get good advice from veteran players or even just by watching YouTube videos on how to control their characters better or what items they should buy in order to excel at their role. This makes it possible for everyone who wants to get into this massive multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) title do so without feeling discouraged by other people or getting stuck on higher difficulties due to lack of knowledge.
The community of League is also very diverse. Many games that have such a large player base make players feel left out due to the amount of toxic behavior online (whether it be racism, sexism, homophobia, etc.). But in league I’ve never seen or heard any bad behavior towards other players! For example if you play against someone who’s really good at their character and they dominate you in the game, they will still be nice to you and tell you how to improve your play. This helps me grow as a player because I don’t get discouraged by my losses or even if I’m losing when playing with friends. League also has many events that pop up throughout the year (that can either be seasonal or based on current events) which allows new players to experience different gameplay modes than just casual 5v5 matches (such as ranked 5v5 matches). These events are usually timed so people can work on unlocking special skins for their favorite characters. This encourages people to play more than once every few weeks for free!
League of Legends: The Lore Behind The Gameplay
This is one aspect about League that I find particularly interesting- its lore! This was what caused me to continue playing this game over other MOBAs like “DotA” and “Smite”. Most games today tend not to focus much attention towards their lore and leave it up mostly for fanservice.
League of Legends is a fun game that brings people together regardless of gender, race, or where they’re from. It has many different characters to choose from and each character has its own unique abilities which helps players learn more about the game and how to improve their strategies. The community is very friendly towards new players as well as veterans who have been playing for years! There are also events every few months that change up the gameplay so you can keep coming back for more! League of legends also has an interesting lore behind it- although most games don’t focus on their lore too much (or at all), league seems to be one of the exceptions with a large amount of attention put into its background story. Whether you play this game casually with friends or try to get better at your role, league will always be there for you (no matter what platform you’re playing on). League is truly a special game!
